v2.9.3 Two-step sign-in, and more control over who can reach your account

• Turn on two-step sign-in and confirm it is you with a code from an authenticator app, or with Face ID or Touch ID

• Signing in with Google or Apple is safer, and Google only asks for your name and email

New Features

• Two-step sign-in: Go to Settings, Sign-in & security to add an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or 1Password), or Face ID, Touch ID or a security key. After you sign in with your password, Google or Apple, Clear Tangle asks for a 6-digit code or a quick Face ID or Touch ID check. It is optional, and you can remove it at any time. The iPhone and Android apps do not support it yet, so if you use them, wait for their next update before turning it on. If you lose the phone with your authenticator app, email support@cleartangle.com and we will help you back in.
• Disconnect an AI assistant: Settings, AI assistants now has a Disconnect button for each assistant you connected, such as Claude or ChatGPT. Its access stops straight away, even in a conversation that is already open. You can connect it again whenever you like.

Improvements

• Safer Google and Apple sign-in: Signing in with Google or Apple now finishes with a code that works once, for one minute, and only in the browser where you started. Google asks only for your name and email, and lets you choose which Google account to use.
• Longer passwords, no odd rules: New and changed passwords need at least 12 characters. There are no rules about symbols or numbers, so a short sentence makes a good password. Your current password keeps working.
• A pause after too many wrong passwords: After 10 wrong passwords in 15 minutes, password sign-in for that account pauses for a short while. You can still sign in with Google or Apple, or reset your password.
• A quick check before sensitive changes: Creating an API key or deleting your account asks for your password if you have not signed in recently.
• Your email stays private: The default project for a Gmail account has to be one of your private projects, so captured emails are never shared with a team unless you choose to share them.
• API keys that expire: New API keys last 90 days unless you choose otherwise, and at most a year. They work with your notes, tasks and projects, but not with your email, calendar or connected apps.
• Clearer team invitations: To add someone who is not yet in your organization to a project, you send them an invitation, which they accept. People already in your organization can still be added directly.

v2.9.2 Voice that acts on your yes the first time

October 6, 2026

• Say yes once and Voice makes the change, then tells you what was saved
• Voice asks in one short question, with dates and times said the way you say them
• Your voice conversations are saved to Chats for 30 days, and you can turn that off in Settings
• Your plan's voice minutes are counted, with a spoken heads-up before they run out
• A session where nobody is speaking ends on its own, so an open tab does not use up your minutes

New Features

• One yes is enough: When you ask Voice to add or change something, it asks you once and acts on your yes straight away. Before, it often asked you to confirm a second or third time. Each change is still made only after you say yes, and only once.
• Change your mind before you confirm: If Voice asks "Add a task to renew your passport?" and you say "make it next week instead", it asks about the new version and waits for your yes to that one.
• Voice conversations in Chats: What you and Voice said is now saved to Chats, like a typed conversation, and kept for 30 days. The Voice panel shows when a conversation is being saved. To keep voice sessions private, turn off "Save voice conversations" in Settings, AI, Voice Agent. Clear Tangle does not keep the audio.
• Ask how much voice time is left: Ask ChatMind or Voice "how much voice time do I have left?" to hear the minutes you have used this month and what remains.

Improvements

• Shorter, plainer questions: When Voice needs your yes it now asks one short question, such as "Add a task to call the bank tomorrow at 4 pm?", instead of reading out every field or saying that something did not go through.
• Dates and times the way people say them: Voice says "tomorrow at 4 pm" or "Monday the 5th", not "2026-10-05 at 16:00".
• No talking before the answer: Voice used to say things like "let me check that" before looking something up, on about half of its answers. It now almost always finds the answer first and then speaks.
• Voice minutes match your plan: Pro includes 120 minutes of Voice a month and Ultimate includes 300, as the pricing page says. Voice tells you when about a minute is left, and a new session will not start once the month's minutes are used.
• Silent sessions end on their own: If nobody speaks for two minutes, Voice asks if you are still there and then ends the session, so an open tab does not use up your minutes.
• A quicker start: On a device where you have used Voice before, it asks for the microphone while it connects instead of afterwards.
• A plain "I can't do that": When you ask for something Voice cannot do, it says so in one sentence instead of pretending or asking for details.

Bug Fixes

• Voice that could not start: When Voice could not start, the session simply ended with no explanation. It now tells you that Voice is not available, and when it is at its usage limit it says so.
• Marking a task done by voice: Voice sometimes said it could not change a task. It now finds the right action for marking a task done, rescheduling it or changing its priority.
• Sending a Slack message by voice: Asking Voice to send a Slack message could produce a draft instead. It now sends the message after your yes, and drafts only when you ask for a draft.

v2.9.1 See and undo what changed on your tasks, and reply drafts that say what you mean

• When a note or email updates a task, you see exactly what it did, and you can undo it with one click
• Type what you want to say and the reply draft says exactly that; with no note it decides nothing for you
• Shorter, Warmer and More formal now adjust your own text, edits included, and you can undo them
• Plans are made only when you ask, stick to the facts, and always act on the right task
• Plans, your task list and reminders follow your own time zone, so "today" and "overdue" are right

New Features

• What happened, on every note and email: Open a saved note or an Inbox message and "What happened" lists each task it updated, with the sentence the update rests on. A task that only looked related is shown too, untouched, and you can add the note to it yourself. The Saved list shows "Updated 1 task" on the row.
• Undo, and "Not this task": Reopen a task a note closed, or put a due date back. If you changed the task yourself afterwards, your change is kept. "Not this task" takes the note off the task, puts the task back as it was, and remembers your answer. Deleting a note leaves your tasks as they are, and you can still undo what it did from the task.
• A task history you can read: A task's activity now shows changes as plain lines, such as "Marked done from an email" or "Due date moved in chat", with who did it: you, an approval of yours, or Clear Tangle on its own. Long runs of automatic notes fold away so your own notes stay in view.
• Clearer approvals: An approval that would change a task now says which task and what would change, and quotes the email. Each decision is confirmed in the corner of the screen. If you close the task yourself, the approval waiting on it is cleared for you.
• Draft from your note: In the Inbox, type a few words such as "yes, Thursday works, loop in finance" and choose "Draft from my note". The reply says what you wrote, with a greeting and sign-off for email, or as a short message for Slack. "Tomorrow" in a message is worked out from the day it was sent, in your time zone.
• Adjust the tone without losing your edits: Shorter, Warmer and More formal rewrite the text in the draft box, including anything you changed. Facts, numbers, dates and names stay as they are. If an adjustment would change a number, it is refused and your text is kept. Undo puts the previous text back.
• Take your reply to Gmail: "Copy and open in Gmail" copies your draft and opens the conversation in Gmail. Press Reply there, paste, and send, so your reply stays in the same thread. Nothing is sent from Clear Tangle.

Improvements

• Emails close a task only when they should: A task is closed from an email without asking only when the email belongs to that task's own thread and says the work is done. Anything else waits for your approval, and a change to a due date always asks first. Receipts, newsletters and automatic replies no longer suggest that a task is done.
• Notes that report a step: A note such as "onboarding call done" is now added to the task it belongs to as progress, and the note joins that task's project.
• Meeting times in your local time: Meeting times in your plan are shown in your own time zone.
• One time zone setting: The time zone on your profile and the one in Settings are now the same setting. Change it in either place and the other follows. A zone you picked yourself is never replaced by the one your browser reports.
• A plan that knows your whole day: Planning now includes today's all-day events, such as time off, and a meeting that has already started. Meetings you declined are left out, and an all-day event no longer counts as a full day of meetings.
• Drafts that do not decide for you: When you have not said what to answer, a draft no longer accepts, refuses, offers or promises anything. It says you will come back, or asks the one question needed.
• Your saved notes stay private: A draft can use your notes to get a fact right, but it does not reveal them: no internal prices, limits, opinions about people or other people's contact details. Instructions hidden inside an email or a Slack message are ignored.
• "What we know" shows real background: The facts beside a draft now come from your earlier notes, memories and mail with that person, each with its source. The note made from the same email is no longer listed as a source.
• Your email shows up sooner after you connect Gmail: Your newest email now appears in the Inbox within seconds of connecting Gmail, instead of after a minute or more. Refreshing the Inbox is about three times faster too.
• Faster drafts: A draft now takes about two seconds instead of about ten.
• Plans only when you ask: Clear Tangle no longer builds a new plan in the background every time it finds a task, which used your credits for plans you never opened. If nothing has changed since today's plan, asking again returns that plan at no cost. The Generate button always makes a new one.
• A plan that sticks to the facts: A plan says what to do today and why, from your due dates, priorities, task comments, calendar and your note for the day. It no longer guesses what might happen if something waits, and it no longer gives general tips. A task you handed to someone, deferred, or that is blocked is listed as not for today, with the reason.
• Plans that fit your calendar: The plan knows the gaps between today's meetings, warns you on a meeting-heavy day, and keeps to what cannot wait when you are out of office.
• "Out of date" when it matters: A saved plan is marked out of date when an urgent task arrives after it was made. Finishing a task no longer hides the whole plan.

Bug Fixes

• Tasks that were quietly skipped: When a new task looked a lot like one you already had, it was sometimes not created at all. Now it is added to the existing task when it really is the same, and created when it is not, such as a meeting with a different person or a payment with a different date.
• Emails changing the wrong task: An email could be treated as part of a task's conversation when it was not, and change that task's due date. It now has to be the same conversation.
• Today and overdue in your time zone: For many accounts, plans, the task list, the daily brief, reminders and overdue notices worked out the date in UTC instead of the account's own time zone. Early in the morning, yesterday's tasks could appear under Today, and meeting times in a plan could be several hours off. They now use your time zone.
• All-day events on the right day: In plans, an all-day event could show up on the previous day for people west of UTC. It now stays on its own date.
• Plan items linked to the wrong task: A plan item could be linked to a different task than the one it described, so Complete could close the wrong task. An item is now linked only to the task it names.
• Critical tasks listed last: Task lists sorted priority alphabetically, which put critical tasks after medium and low. Critical now comes first, then high, medium and low, in the task list, shared lists and the daily brief.
• Made-up Slack drafts: If drafting a Slack reply failed, a stock sentence such as "I will review this and follow up" could be saved as your draft. Now nothing is saved and you are told to try again.
• Inbox filter panel: With a message open, the Filter button jumped under the title once a filter was on, and its panel could slide under the sidebar or run off the bottom of the screen. The button now stays put, and the panel stays on screen and scrolls.
• Very long task histories breaking plans: A task with hundreds of long comments could make a plan fail. Plans now read only the latest comments on each task.

v2.9.0 A new look, and a Board that keeps your place

• A fresh look across the app: warm paper, ink text and one raspberry accent, with a matching dark mode
• Moving a card on the Board shows it right away and never reloads the list, so you keep your place

New Features

• The new Clear Tangle look: Every screen now follows the Clear Tangle brand: warm paper backgrounds, ink text and buttons, and a single raspberry accent for links, focus and the one thing that matters on a page. Dark mode uses the matching ink palette. The sign-in animation draws the logo line once and takes about a second.
• A Board that stays put: Drag a card, use its move menu or tick its circle and it moves at once while Clear Tangle saves in the background. If the save fails, the card goes back where it was and the Board says so. Nothing reloads, so you can move ten cards in a row without losing your place.
• Slack mentions, live in your Inbox: When someone mentions you in a channel you have turned on, the mention appears in your Inbox right away, including mentions inside threads, and a task is created for it. Open it to read the thread around it. Write a reply, confirm, and Clear Tangle posts it in the thread as the Clear Tangle app. Your reply is noted on the task, and you can close the task in the same step. Channels need to be set to Read + drafts to reply.
• Notes that update your tasks: Save a note such as "deployed the fix and replied to Nick" and Clear Tangle adds it to each open task it reports on, and marks a task done when the note says that work is finished. It only touches a task when it can point to the words in your note that are about it. Open the saved note to see "What happened": the tasks it updated and the tasks it created. On a task, an update that came from a note links back to it.

Improvements

• Faster, more exact reading of what you save: Summaries keep the names, numbers and dates from your note, and tags are more specific. Processing is quicker too.
• Tasks from long notes: Long notes and meeting transcripts are read all the way through, so a task mentioned in the middle or near the end is picked up too.
• Notes land in the right project: A note that updates tasks in one project is filed in that project, even when it never names it. New accounts file notes into their own projects automatically, and you can change this in Settings.
• Delete from a saved item: The menu on an open saved item now includes Delete, with a confirmation first.
• Change your Salesforce app details: If the client ID or secret you entered for Salesforce is wrong, you can now change or remove it. Disconnecting Salesforce removes those details as well.
• Overdue first: The task list opens with Overdue at the top, collapsed so it does not push Today down. The Board and Home use the same name.
• Recent completions in Done: The Board's Done column lists your 20 most recent completions, newest first, with a link to show more.
• Sort beside search: Sort now sits on the same row as search and Filters, so the task list starts higher on the page.
• The whole day on the calendar: The task calendar shows every hour and opens scrolled to the start of your working day.
• Menus that match the app: Drop-down lists such as priority, duration and project open in the app's own style in Chrome and Edge.
• A clearer tab icon: The browser tab icon is the Clear Tangle loop on its own, drawn heavier so it is easy to spot among your tabs.

Bug Fixes

• No invented follow-ups: A note that only reports progress on a task no longer creates extra tasks from what it says is already done. Anything the note says is still to do becomes a task as before.
• Updates reach the right task for everyone: On some accounts a progress note was never matched to its task and a duplicate task was created. Matching now works the same way for every account.
• Tasks closed for you are recorded properly: A task closed by a note now shows when it was completed, and a repeating task gets its next occurrence. Analyzing a note again no longer adds its update twice.
• Today in your time zone: Tasks are grouped into Overdue, Today and This week by your own time zone. Early in the morning, yesterday's tasks no longer show up under Today.
• Saved items open cleanly: Opening a saved email shows its subject right away instead of switching titles as it loads, and summaries show apostrophes correctly.
• Fewer reloads: Completing a task refreshes the Tasks page once instead of several times.
• Visible focus on search fields: Search boxes show one clear focus ring around the whole field.
