Getting Started
- 1Go to Settings → Integrations in Clear Tangle
- 2Click "Connect Google Calendar"
- 3Sign in to your Google account and authorize access
- 4Your primary calendar is automatically added
- 5Toggle additional calendars on/off as needed
Multi-Account Support
You can connect multiple Google accounts to a single Clear Tangle account. Each account shows separately in Settings with its own calendars.
Event Information Captured
Clear Tangle syncs the following information from your calendar events:
Time & Duration
Event start time, end time, duration, and timezone information. All-day events are tracked separately.
Meeting Links
Google Meet, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and other conference links are captured for quick access.
Attendees
Organizer information and attendee count help the AI understand meeting importance.
Location
Event location information, useful for understanding if travel time is needed.
AI-Powered Planning
When connected, Clear Tangle's AI uses your calendar context to provide smarter task recommendations:
Identifies gaps between meetings ideal for deep work tasks
Alerts when a day has 5+ hours of meetings, suggesting lighter tasks
Avoids scheduling intensive tasks right before important meetings
Suggests breaks or light tasks when you have consecutive meetings
Shows total meeting time per day to help balance your schedule
48-Hour Window
AI planning considers your calendar events for the next 48 hours. This helps balance immediate priorities with upcoming commitments.
Managing Calendars
Control which calendars sync with Clear Tangle:

Sync Schedule
Calendar events are synchronized automatically:
- Automatic sync every 30 minutes
- Events for the next 2 days are synced
- Manual sync available anytime from Settings
- Past events are automatically cleaned up
Security & Privacy
Your calendar data is handled securely:
- Read-only access (we never modify your calendar)
- OAuth 2.0 with signed state parameter (15-min expiration)
- Tokens automatically refreshed when needed
- Row-level security ensures data isolation
- Disconnect anytime to remove all synced data
Permissions Requested
Clear Tangle requests only calendar read permissions (calendar.readonly, calendar.events.readonly) plus basic profile info (email, name, picture) to identify your account.
Troubleshooting
Events not showing up?
Try clicking "Sync Calendars" in Settings. Make sure the calendar is toggled on. Events sync for the next 2 days only.
Sync error message?
If you see a sync error, try disconnecting and reconnecting your Google account. This refreshes the OAuth tokens.
Missing calendars?
Only calendars you have access to in Google Calendar will appear. Shared calendars may need to be explicitly granted access.
